Yoshida Toshimaro appears in several fictional retellings of stories featuring the Shinsengumi.

He appears in the Peacemaker Kurogane anime for a good portion of the 24 episode season that follows the Shinsnegumi up to the events of Ikedaya. He serves as the archvillain for the events that define the life of the protagonist, Tetsunosuke Ichimura (who was the historical page of Hijikata Toshizou). He is implicated as one of the main leaders behind the plot to burn Kyoto.

 

His appearance in the NHK taiga "Shinsengumi" drama is brief. He is present at preliminary discussions with Katsura and other Choshu radicals, and we presume is sliced and diced in the Ikedaya raid.
