A relative unknown, a man who -- had he survived -- may have surpassed his other Choshu contemporaries. He is more popularly known in the West as the archnemesis of the Shinsengumi in Nanae Chrno's Peacemaker Kurogane anime and manga; however, that perhaps was more fiction than reality.
